Summer is coming...

After a week of (over) induging in amazing food & lots of booze we decided it was time to get serious. Cut sugar & complex carbs -  I hate that it is so easy to do yet so easy to not do. With easy access to pre-packed foods it is so easy to fill our bodies with that nasty sugar.

So we have been toying with the idea of doing the 50 Day No Sugar Challenge and even paid for it but with birthdays, Christmas & work Christmas parties in that 50 days we figured it was best to make sure we're doing it 80/20 with the 20 only if we are eating out or suffering a crazy hangover. I love my hangover food!!

So I wrote our meal plan & resigned myself to the fact I would be spending a few hours in the kitchen every few days. 3 days in and I'm feeling fab! My friend B & I have also been doing a teatox/detox to boost/cleanse everything. You can read about it here. I feel so much lighter and a lot clearer.

What we have eaten;

Monday
Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with sautéed mushroom & tomatoes
Snack: Carrots
Lunch: 2 pure beef sausages* with steamed broccoli and green beans
Snack: Banana & Almonds
Dinner: Salad with chicken cooked in chilli oil

*There is a butcher in Marrickville that makes these. They don't spurt out fat like other snags but I'm not sure I like the extra 'stuff' they put into them. I'll probably switch these for something else next week.

Tuesday
Breakfast: 2 x Eggwhite muffins with Spinach, mushrooms & tomatoes
Lunch: Pork mince (like Bolognese) with lettuce - This is my favourite meal ever & it is so good.
Snack: Banana & Almonds
Dinner: Steak cooked in chilli oil with sweet potato & roasted broccoli*

*Roasted broccoli is amazing & super simple. Broccoli, olive oil, garlic - stir  & put on a baking try (single layer). Roast for 20 mins or until it looks crunchy.

Wednesday
Breakfast: 2 eggwhite muffins with spinach, mushrooms & tomatoes
Snack: Almonds*
Lunch: Turkey mince with lettuce - You should try it. It is amazing!
Dinner: BBQ'd pork fillet with sweet potato & roasted broccoliSnack: Smoothie with Banana, milk, coconut & cacao butter (YUM) and coconut flakes

*Since the Activated Almonds fiasco over the weekend I thought I'd give it a go. I'm not going to lie, they tasted MUCH better & felt a lot easier to eat. I am going to try roasting them with different flavours to see how much they change.

[what a wanker]

I'm not being super adventurous but we're eating well and keeping it natural. I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 2kgs since before Melbourne. I'm not sure if I put on any weight while we were away so I'm not I'm not counting it as a positive. Today I am feeling light and fresh but I really need to eat something other than bananas. I'll head to Thomas Dux today for some mangoes and watermelon. Yum Yum
